Blex's Facebook Rants: 2012 - Present

When I ran the infamous and legendary Blex's Page of Good Mp3, I often bitched, vented, ranted, and raved about stuff that pissed me off. I figured, I might as well express my thoughts and spread my beliefs while I was famous! I've realized that since Facebook became popular I often do the same thing on there! Therefore, for those that don't follow me, here we have a collection my rants often about sports, women, and politics that I've posted from 2012 to the present. I cut and pasted with spelling and grammar errors as each error represents the fury and emotion I experienced while typing each post.  !!! ENJOY !!!

November 28th, 2014: Black Friday? I'll pass and support a "NATIONAL, INTERNET, PIRATE AS MUCH FREE STUFF AS YOU CAN DAY!"

Many people, like me, consider the people who lined up for days outside of stores (to run in like they are storming the beaches of Normandy) to be bird-brained idiots unable to control their greedy impulses to buy shit for a few bucks off.

Fuck all the corporations that don't pay their workers a living wage to buy stuff they can actually afford more than 1 day out of the year!

I think there should be an antithesis proclamation that labels today "NATIONAL, INTERNET, PIRATE AS MUCH FREE STUFF AS YOU CAN" day.

Get to the Torrent Sites, Pirate Bay, Newsgroups, and/or websites you know and download away! Download, Download, Download! Come sundown, there should be no excuse if your cable modem is not on the verge of overheating from gigabytes of pirated downloads.

Leeeech !!! Leeeeeeech away !!!

August 15th, 2014: The Real Reason why the Attendance at Major League Baseball Games is Declining

This question was asked by Bill Michaels on his radio show: Major League Baseball ratings and attendance are declining, what does baseball need to do to bring you in as a fan?

My reply was as follows: It is definitely worth noting that action is necessary by the people to demand increased vacation time, higher wages, raising the minimum wage, student-loan debt forgiveness, lower credit card rates, and (to state proudly as a democratic socialist) redistribution of wealth out of the hands of filthy rich scum who think the billions of dollars they have might be enough to put food on the table for their kids.

Nothing, people simply are falling further and further into debt as prices for decades have continued to incrementally increase while working-class wages just continue to constantly stay the same. Although people want to go to games, they work increasingly longer hours and have extremely low vacation days that prohibit them from enjoying the fruits of watching live baseball at stadiums.

I wouldn't blame increased prices at stadiums because they too need to keep up with the rising costs of everything. It's just the people who are stuck with the saaaaame low wages. As I stated in the aforementioned post, baseball needs to do nothing as there are greater socioeconomic forces at work making attendance and ratings decline. Raising the minimum wage would help.

Ticket prices aren't being raised just for the hell of it. The team needs to make a profit and I believe they raise prices reluctantly.

In summary, baseball is fine it reflects society and society is reflected in the game. Right now, the game is a victim of the wealth gap that continues to grow, and grow, and grow .. and grow.

August 12th, 2014: On Why Fans Blame Managers in Major League Baseball for Bullpen Management

Fans who complain about managers' use of a bullpen simply want a scapegoat to take the blame when relievers are having an off night, the other team gets good wood on the ball, or double-play grounders happen to sneak through the infield. The majority of fans do not understand the complexities that are involved in managing a baseball team (yet alone a MLB team). They like to reduce things down to the simplest and most convenient argument to make it "LOOK" like they know the game. Limited with only 140 characters to make their argument, they blame the manager. It's part of the game, pitchers get hit whether they are a starter or a reliever. Closers, other than those such as HOF ones like Mariano Rivera, Trever Hoffman (even he lost his closer role in his last year), and Dennis Eckersley, the majority of time get the job to lose the job.

So the next time you're watching a MLB and a reliever or closer blows a lead, remember this because like everything in life, you can't look smart and summarize everything into a 140 character limit or 1 paragraph post on Facebook. FFR: See Steve Bartman.

August 5th, 2014: Commentary on the Brett Favre Jersey Retirement Announcement

My friend Josh Mattson told me "I have been diligently waiting for some commentary on the Favre announcement from you." So I typed a long message up expressing my thoughts but only sent them to him. So, as others are probably curious to what my thoughts are I decided to post publicly for you all to read, enjoy, and contemplate!

Get comfortable before reading: My commentary is that he's a historic and legendary figure and ranks up there in Green Bay history as famous as John Nicolet himself who was one of the first settlers. Without him, a slim possibility exists that the team never regained prominence. We owe him thanks for everything he accomplished on and off the field. Fans need to realize that the circumstances in 2008 when he retired to came out of retirement were a no win scenario. He retired and was retired for about 6 months and when he announced he wanted to play again it would have disrupted 6 months of work by the coaching staff, management, and players. Most importantly, the NFL draft occurred when he was retired. Therefore, we drafted for the future based upon building the team around Aaron Rodgers at QB. The importance of this is often forgotten and the draft was once of the best in Packers history as we landed Jordy Nelson, Jermichael Finley, Matt Flynn, Josh Sitton, and Pat Lee. Lee, who didn't have a long career filled in in the Super Bowl admirably when Woodson went down with an injury so his impact was also felt. If we had Favre and knew he didn't retire going into the draft, it's possible we went with many other players. Anyways, people who don't remember the good times with Favre and only focus on the bad are idiots. Him not coming back was only natural in 2008 because the NFL is a year round sport. Favre, proved he could still play at a top level when his second to last year with the Vikings he was amazing and took them to overtime.

But, you live by the sword die by the sword with Brett and the sword worked far more times then it killed us. But, it was very double edged as his interceptions in critical moments starting in the 1999 season made his career very agonizing for fans. Creating a love hate relationship. However, spanning the NFL, a QB of his talent, EVEN NOW, would be an upgrade to probably a quarter of the teams out there who are still struggling to find that franchise QB. I welcome him back, never rooted against him and always wished him luck because once he came back the cliche "it is what it is" applies and you move forward. Which, after all, payed off with a Super Bowl win with Aaron Rodgers. People who say they will boo him are idiots and haters are gonna hate that's about it!

However, I'm older and I've seen Favre play since 1991 so I can remember the immature inexperienced Favre playing and saw the growth over all the years. For many YOUNGER fans they never saw that or were so young then don't remember watching him grow and develop. To them, Favre was a staple and he was like a father figure to them because they knew no other QB OTHER than Favre. If you were born in 1985, you would be around 23 in 2008. Of those years, you can imagine that around 8-10 years old people became knowledgeable about football. So to them, Favre was just always there, there was no history of horrible QBs they ever saw play bad so they just automatically assumed that Favre was always there. So, when we didn't welcome him back, it's easy to understand. It would be like if Bob Uecker retired and the Brewers didn't let him back. I would blame the Brewers too and demand Uecker to return. But, he's been announcing since I was born and if they paid 10 million to a new announcer you just don't cut him lose.

More highlights need to be shown of Favre in his glory days so youngsters can learn more about the good he contributed to the history of the franchise. It would be interesting to have an opinion poll done on fans to determine the age group of supporters to haters. Could be evenly distributed or slant towards the younger being more unfavorable by a greater margin. Yet, it might not prove anything because empathy, understanding, forgiveness, acceptance, and ability to change ones beliefs has biological and heredity roots. Some people forgive and forget and some never forgive and never forget and hold a grudge their entire lives. But, eventually, the good comes out. Fans were the same way then Lombardi went to Washington. Yet, today, he's a Packer icon and fans probably don't know he went to Washington after Green Bay yet didn't gain the same acceptance there. History will eventually work it's way out and Favre will be as historic of a figure as Lombardi is today.

FAVRE 4 EVER !!!

June 7th, 2014: Thoughts on Wisconsin Gay Marriage Ruled Unconstititional

I'm proud to be a citizen of Wisconsin after the ban on gay marriage was ruled unconstitutional. The love that brings all of us together is always stronger than the hate that drives us apart. Although I am straight, I have zero desire to deny any of my gay friends the equal rights and pursuit of happiness guaranteed to them under the constitution. Is was not too long ago that interracial marriage was against the law. Like my hero Martin Luther King Jr. stated, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice."

These parts of the ruling as stated in the court's decision explain it best. It's time to make it NATIONAL LAW that all same-sex couples have the liberty and justice they have long since been denied !!!!

"This case is not about whether marriages between same-sex couples are consistent or inconsistent with the teachings of a particular religion, whether such marriages are moral or immoral or whether they are something that should be encouraged or discouraged. It is not even about whether the plaintiffs in this case are as capable as opposite-sex couples of maintaining a committed and loving relationship or raising a family together. Quite simply, this case is about liberty and equality, the two cornerstones of the rights protected by the United States Constitution."

"Marriage is tied to our sense of self, personal autonomy and public dignity. And perhaps more than any other endeavor, we view marriage as essential to the pursuit of happiness, one of the inalienable rights in our Declaration of Independence."

"Personal beliefs, anxiety about change and discomfort about an unfamiliar way of life must give way to a respect for the constitutional rights of individuals."

Those who argue disagree with the ruling or claim that people will now start to marry their goats can go fuck themselves. AND TO THAT I SAY GOOD DAY!!

February 14th, 2014: Why I will Never Again Send Girls Flowers: Brewers Baseball > Girlfriends

On Valentine's day in 2009 I sent flowers to my then girlfriend at her work place. A month later we broke up. She claimed that once the Brewers started, I would be going to games so often (she considered 3-5 a year too many) that I wouldn't see her much. Couple years before that a girlfriend of mine got mad that I didn't want to go out to some stupid movie she wanted to see because the Brewers were on and I wanted to watch them. We broke up a couple days later.

I've sworn a oath to Odin to never buy flowers and never date a girl that doesn't like baseball. Hmm .. I've been single ever since with only a couple prospects that went nowhere. So yeah, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY MILWAUKEE BREWERS !!! Women come and go but baseball comes back every spring. If you love the game, it will love you back.

December 20th, 2013: Why Phil Robertson is a Fucking Idiot

Just fuck this fucking idiot already. I know zero gay people who fit his stereotypical racist stupid bigoted homophobic description. Almost identical word for word bullshit that was said in the antebellum years right before the Civil War to falsely persuade fearful white people that traditional American values were going to end and the "freedom" entitled to everybody in this nation was going to become corrupt if slavery was ended. It was bullshit then and it's bullshit now and people siding with this dumb fucker are as guilty as he is in spreading fear, intolerance, and bigotry towards others who have the love of all humanity in their hearts as Jesus did and taught in the Bible. CAN I GET AN INDEED TO THAT ????

October 13th, 2013: The God of Matchmaking Coincidence

Everybody that is married or in a long-term steady relationship should thank the God of coincidence that on one day, hour, minute, and second of your life, you and your significant other crossed paths. Unless something magically arises with some woman I know, that one second hasn't happened yet for me and a lot of other single guys yet. For those it has, be sure to the God of coincidence and significant other you are thankful. Unless if you hate the relationship you are in... then nevermind.

August 12th, 2013: My Unbelievable Experience with Sprint and why they Suck

Loyal Sprint customer for 10+ years, always paid bill on time, and never called to complain ever. So, over this time span I've patiently put up with my phone turning into a paper weight at Brewer games, Packer games, restaurants on occasion, and any other places with maybe 100+ people. I realized lately. I figure, I don't have to put up with this shit so I call them up, explain situation to one CS rep, transfers me to another one, explain situation again, transfers me to another one, explain situation again, "escalates" explain situation again to another one.

Get a load of this shit:

If you call from your sprint cell phone with questions they can't help you and automatically disconnect you until you call back. Yes, we all have land lines and multiple cell phone providers to do that. They asked if I rebooted the phone. No, after 10 years I've never turned it off and back on! They tell me they've been upgrading their network for 6 months, yet have sent emails for years on end saying they are doing so. It's too bad so sad that I've been paying for 4G coverage because "it's a 4G phone and that's all we sell" even though 4G is not available STILL in Green Bay or Milwaukee. Oh.. they put it in booming metropolis of La Cross!

In order to get credit on your bill for lost time you have to contact sprint WHILE your service is down. THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! At stadiums my phone doesn't ping off any towers and all their towers show working. If a phone CAN'T ping a tower it won't register as a not working because the ping can't be sent!
They report no issues at this time while I'm talking to them. Well, I'm at home and I'm talking to them OF COURSE THERE ARE NO ISSUES. After never missing a payment .. EVER .. NOPE, THEY WON'T WAVE THE EARLY TERMINATION FEE! TOO BAD! They spend tens of millions a year probably paying for advertising spots to get people to join their network because it's new customers and switching that matters and not quality of service.

If you are considering switching to Sprint .. run. If you have it ... take your phone, walk into the Sprint store, drop it, take a hammer to it, smash it to pieces, and then yell I WANT TO CANCEL!!!!!!

March 26th, 2013: Thoughts on the Supreme Court Ruling Against the Ban on Interracial Marriages

Some quick historical thoughts on the recent Supreme Court news: In early America, states (generally Southern ones) made inter-racial marriages against the law. The thought process was that mixing races would pollute the superior white race. Darwinian science was intentionally used by influential whites to convince people that blacks were scientifically subhuman and a threat to white race and political, social, and economic power they enjoyed for centuries. Even after the Civil War and up to this modern day many unfortunately still hold that bullshit belief. Fast forward to the 1930s-1940s in Nazi Germany, Jews too were banned from intermarrying because the myth was spread by Hitler and white-German leaders that Jew-blood was polluting the human race and threatening to corrupt the natural world order. Granted, scenarios are different today and the repercussions of course will not result in armed conflict. BUT, the FEAR is still there and FEAR is what has constantly held back liberty, justice, and freedom for all under law. Compassion for those different to traditional white, Christian, and middle-class Americans has constantly been held back by fear-spreading forces who spread lies that make people because that scary people are conspiring to end the natural order of power that whites have always enjoyed. After taking my Supreme Court grad. class last semester, the decisions they reach are almost always based on precedence (thus the gigantic hundred page documents explaining their decision). Since the 1930s, they have generally interpreted the constitution to be a living document. Thus, i'm nearly certain that barriers to same-sex marriage will be overturned and our gay brothers and sisters across the country will be able to enjoy the freedoms which everybody should enjoy. I can predict with confidence the court will rule in favor of justice soon and all and we can all compassionately stand together whether straight or LBGT as we all know anyway that liberty and justice applies to humans and freedom cannot be an exclusivity and privilege granted to certain people! CAN I GET AN AMEN AND AN INDEED???????

October 27th, 2012: Republicans: Dumb Pricks who Always Attack the Messenger and not the Message

Whether or not you like or don't like the President as a "man" should be irrelevant when you cast your vote. What would be a better course of action is understanding the ideological differences that exist between the two competing political parties. It is imperative for us to remember that government is based on a series of checks and balances and laws passed by the house, congress, and presidency of which the courts review to determine adherence to federal and state constitutions. One man alone in government is not responsible for anything and everything that happens in our nation. In our fast-paced overworked, underpaid, and overly-materialistic culture today, simply obtaining life's necessities in the midst of a perpetual bombardment of advertisements and easily accessible simple-minded entertainment leads to a large percent of the population with little to no TIME to educate themselves beyond the stigma attached all to often upon the shoulder's of the President. Exactly why you see bumper stickers, billboards, commercials, and (most importantly) the 24/7 news cycle that simply say "Obama" or "Romney" signs instead of "Democrat" or "Republican" signs out there. A one to two word phrase expressing your beliefs is meaningless in educating minds about what is best for the future of our country.

Simply put, image, posture, public speaking skills, gender, sexual preference, and race are all IRRELEVANT factors when contemplating your vote.

It's NOT the MESSENGER who you should be basing your vote on, but the MESSAGE itself which should be your top priority in elections. ... - Michael Kramer 2012!!

October 4th, 2012: My Unbelievable Conversation with Former Wisconsin House Representative Steve Kagan: Billionaires actually fear not being able to put their Kids through School!

***** IF YOU WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH YOU WILL LISTEN TO ME HERE ****

SO, I go to Kagan Allergy Clinic for an allergy shot and my annual checkup. For over 8 years I've seen the other DR that works there BUT TODAY... Former Senator DR STEVE KAGAN himself! NOW, GET THIS, HE VERIFIED FOR ME, RIGHT SMACK FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH, THAT EVERY REPUBLICAN HE MET WHILE IN THE SENATE EITHER TOLD HIM OUT RIGHT OR DID SO IN THEIR ACTIONS THAT EVERY SINGLE THING THAT REPUBLICANS STAND FOR IS ******* NOT ******* THE AMERICAN PEOPLE !!!!! THEY EXIST FOR ONE THING AND THAT IS TO MAKE THE BILLIONAIRES AND MULTI-BILLIONAIRES GO FROM 50 TO 60 MILLION BECAUSE THEY FEAR IF THEY LOSE JUST * 1 * OF THEIR BILLIONS OF DOLLARS THEIR KIDS WON'T BE ABLE TO GET AN EDUCATION !!!!! I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP !! HE GOT THIS INFORMATION STRAIGHT FROM KARL ROVE HIMSELF !!!

HE EVEN SAID, AFTER HIS DEBATES, IT WAS REGULARLY SAID BY REPUBLICANS THAT THEY * DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT FACTS * AND ONLY WISH TO MANIPULATE PEOPLE INTO VOTING FOR THEM SO THEY CAN MAKE THE RICH AND THEMSELVES RICHER !! I AM NOT MAKING THIS SHIT UP !!!

FINAL WORD - HE SAID HE USED TO TELL PEOPLE ALL THE TIME SOMETHING WHICH I TOO SAY ALL THE TIME.. WHICH IS EVERYTHING... ARE YOU LISTENING ROMNEY SUPPORTERS? ARE YOU LISTENING? EVERYTHING THAT REPUBLICANS SAY ... THE COMPLETE ***** OPPOSITE ***** IS TRUE !! THIS IS COMING DIRECTLY FROM THE WHITE HOUSE AND EVEN HIS REPUBLICAN COLLEGES MOUTHS THEMSELVES !! But yeah, go ahead and vote Republican cause ONE DAY YOU TOO will be one of the richest 400 people in the nation who control ..EVERYTHING !!!! Yeah, check up went 2 minutes, talking politics went 30 minutes. Oh yeah.. and he saw Karl Rove in the bathroom on his first day and wanted to punch him in the face. AND, he did say that he called Laura Bush Barbara by accident because he was going on no sleep for over 24 hours. OK, NOW IT'S NAP TIME !!!!!!

September 11th, 2012: Researching the CAUSES of 9/11 is of the Utmost Importance

On this anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, while we must indeed remember and honor those who perished, we must also remember that there were "causes" which led to the "effect" being the attacks by people so fanatically angry that they committed such a heinous act on US soil. It must be continually researched and discussed not how to "payback" those who attacked us, but instead find the reasons "why" they got so angry that the attackers attacked us. The reasons rather than the response is necessary to be analyzed to determine through democratic reasons how to prevent the act from happening again and how other cultures (no matter how different from our own) can live in peace and harmony with one another without such a omnipresent fear existing which FDR summarized well when he stated "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Patriotism is obtaining the knowledge to participate in upholding our ideology, not blindly turning authority to those who tells us to be afraid and either bend to their will or perish by an invisible enemy. But yeah, USA-USA-USA !!!

I've had posts dated earlier but I'm too tired of sifting through my Facebook timeline and cutting and pasting them so I'll stop here!
